Privacy & security
The server cannot read your content at all
Teachers work with highly sensitive data – children's names, grades, observations, conversation minutes. That is why Teacher's Desk runs on the MindooDB Haven platform, which is designed exactly for this: here privacy is not an afterthought promise but built in by design.
Technical foundations
Six building blocks for real data sovereignty
Your content is stored encrypted. Even the server operator cannot read names, grades or minutes.
Your data lives on your device first. Even without a subscription it stays locally readable and exportable.
Keep working without signal, in a basement room or on a school trip. Syncing happens automatically as soon as there is a connection again.
Edits on multiple devices are merged conflict-free (AutoMerge) – nothing gets lost.
Thanks to append-only storage, earlier versions are preserved. Anything accidentally changed is not irretrievably lost.
Materials, units and notes belong to you – regardless of school, device and location.
Encryption: keys stay on your devices
Your content is stored encrypted. Even the operator of the server has no way to view your learners' names, grades or minutes. Only you – and the devices you have authorised – can decrypt the data. Servers see nothing but ciphertext.
Local-first & offline-capable
Almost everything you see is served from a local copy in your browser. This makes Teacher's Desk fast and usable offline – without signal, in a basement classroom or on a school trip. As soon as a connection is available again, everything syncs automatically.
Conflict-free collaboration (AutoMerge)
Changes are not stored as a complete file but as a fine sequence of individual editing steps. This lets the platform merge parallel edits across several devices automatically – without a conflict dialog and without anything getting lost.
Version safety (append-only)
MindooDB stores data by appending rather than overwriting. This preserves all earlier versions. Anything accidentally deleted or changed is not irretrievably lost.
Transparency
Separate databases, viewable at any time
Your data is split across several subject-specific databases. Which ones are enabled for your workspace and which permissions apply is visible at any time in the settings.
School years, classes, learners, subjects, rooms, timetable, calendar, tasks.
Teaching units, reusable lessons, board-image attachments.
Material descriptions and file attachments.
Notes, observations, conversations, minutes and attachments.
Performance data, assessment structures, grades, lists, class register, seating plans.
